Sacred Bull is the culmination of a longstanding series of projects by its two founding members, guitarist Griffin Hans and drummer Zakk Cook. They solidified after numerous precursory iterations in the summer of 2018, with the recording of their debut full-length Subtle Phase at the home-studio of bassist J Anderssen, who subsequently joined the group and thus finalized the lineup. They have become a staple of the Athens metal scene as fostered by the legendary record store and musical resource Shadebeast, and went on to tour the east coast with Virginian doom kinsmen Tel. Their highly-anticipated second album Ragged Mountains is slated for release in December of 2020, on Super Carnival Recordings.
